More Than a Venue:

Our Working Tree Farm

Rooted in nature. Growing with purpose.

There's more growing at Casani Estates than beautiful memories!

Nestled in Groveland, Florida, Casani Estates is known for its picturesque landscapes, peaceful surroundings, and unforgettable celebrations. But beyond the weddings and special events, there's another side to our property that we're equally proud of.

We're an active, working tree farm!

Our property is home to a longleaf pine plantation that plays an important role in our ongoing forestry operations. Through timber production, silviculture, and responsible land management, we're committed to maintaining a healthy, productive forest for generations to come.

more about our land

Those beautiful rows of pine trees you see throughout Casani Estates? They're not just there for the wedding photos!

Our property spans approximately 137.5 acres, including 96.3 acres of planted longleaf pine forest. Originally planted in the mid-to-late 1990s, these trees are part of a managed timber plantation and an important piece of our property's agricultural history.

And while we certainly love the natural beauty they bring to our venue, their purpose goes well beyond aesthetics.

Our forest is managed with an emphasis on timber production, forest health, wildlife habitat, and the long-term productivity of the land.

So... What Exactly Is Silviculture?

It's a big word for something pretty important!

Silviculture is the science and practice of establishing, growing, managing, and maintaining forests.

Think of it as farming, but instead of growing traditional crops, we're growing and managing trees!

At Casani Estates, silviculture is central to our forest management approach. Our forestry plan outlines practices such as selective timber harvesting, maintaining firebreaks, controlling competing vegetation, and supporting healthy tree growth. These practices are designed to help maintain a productive forest while improving wildlife habitat, reducing wildfire risks, and protecting natural resources.

Tree Harvesting Is Part of the Plan!

One of the most important parts of operating a working tree farm is understanding when and how to harvest timber.

Casani Estates' forestry operations include timber harvesting as part of our long-term forest management strategy.

Selective harvesting and thinning can help reduce competition between trees, allow more sunlight to reach the forest floor, and encourage healthier growth throughout the remaining forest.

Our Forest Stewardship Management Plan includes a schedule for selective harvesting and other silvicultural activities, supporting our goal of maintaining productive timberland over time.

Because when it comes to forestry, it's not just about the trees growing today. It's about planning for the forests of tomorrow.

caring for more than trees

A healthy forest supports more than timber production.

Our forestry management objectives also include improving wildlife habitats, conserving soil and water resources, and maintaining the natural beauty of the property.

Our Forest Stewardship Management Plan specifically considers habitat improvements for native Florida wildlife, including:

  • White-tailed deer

  • Wild turkey

  • Northern bobwhite quail

  • Other native wildlife species

By thoughtfully managing our pine plantation, we aim to support both the productivity of our working forest and the natural environment surrounding it.

Our Commitment to the Land

Casani Estates operates with a Forest Stewardship Management Plan prepared in September 2023, outlining long-term objectives and recommended practices for timber production, forest health, wildlife habitat, and natural resource conservation.

The plan was prepared by a professional forestry consultant and reviewed and approved by the Florida Forest Service's Lake County Forester. It provides a framework for managing our working forest while recognizing the property's recreational and aesthetic value.

Our goal is simple:

to care for the land today while preserving its productivity,

natural beauty, and value for the future.

Growing More Than Memories

At Casani Estates, our trees have a story to tell.

They're the backdrop for first looks, family portraits, wedding ceremonies, and countless unforgettable moments. But they're also part of a working landscape with an important agricultural purpose.

We love that our property can be both a place where beautiful memories are made and a place where Florida's forestry traditions continue to grow.

Because at Casani Estates, we're not just growing trees or creating memories. We're growing a legacy.
